Princess Sumaya University for Technology (JOR)

International Networking / Academic Exchange: Selsela Arya

I attended the Erasmus+ Networking Seminar which was organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Jordan.
The seminar took place from the 23-26 October 2022 at the Hilton Hotel seminar venue near the Dead Sea in Jordan.

The main aim of the Erasmus+ Networking Seminar in Jordan was especially to enhance the cooperation between Jordan and EU Member States and Third Countries Associated with the Erasmus+ Program under different actions of Erasmus+. The networking event enabled staff from Jordan and those counties to interact, exchange information, and share best practices as well as challenges.

There were participants from different countries like Greece, Italy, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Turkey, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and so on.

It was great to exchange ideas, knowledge, and experience and learn from best practices in an international setting. I feel very fortunate that the National Erasmus+ Office in Jordan was able to offer such a Networking seminar on-site in Jordan. We had workshops on different topics in regard to Cooperation in Higher Education like Blended Intensive Programmes: Challenges and Rewards; Green and digital initiatives in higher education; Inclusion and Mobility and so on. But also enough time to interact and network with representatives from Jordanian Universities.

I was able to visit Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman after working on a workshop during the Networking Seminar with one of the professors from the Faculty of Business at Princess Sumaya University for Technology. I also got a campus tour from Meena, the head of the international office at Princess Sumaya University for Technology. This was a fruitful visit as the Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman is a partner univeristy of RheinAhrCampus Remagen and we are going to welcome our first incoming exchange student in the WiSe 2023-2023 starting September 2023.

We also had the chance to explore the capital of Jordan, Amman which is a beautiful city, and learned a lot about its history. All participants were also invited on a trip to Petra which is a famous archaeological site in Jordan's southwestern desert, which was an amazing experience for all.

Thank you to the entire team at the National Erasmus+ Office in Jordan for organizing it and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Bonn for partially supporting the mobility with a DAAD Scholarship. Shukran! (Thanks!)

I am very happy to have the opportunity to attend this type of networking seminar organized by Erasmus+. These mobilities that take place on-site also help us to get to know the partners better and strengthen the cooperation further.
