Professor for Systems Engineering

As the largest university of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate, Koblenz University of Applied Sciences offers a diverse academic education in an inspiring learning environment and promotes application-oriented research.
The following professorship is to be filled in the department of Engineering at the location Koblenz as soon as possible: 
 

Professor for Systems Engineering (f/m/d)
(Base Salary: W 2)

Part-time employment is possible.

Your tasks:
• Teaching (in German and English) in the subject areas of Systems Engineering of mechatronic sys-tems (including model-based systems engineering, architecture, and verification and validation) for complex, networked, and safety-critical systems, IT security of mechatronic and cyber-physical applications, including safety–security interrelationships, as well as project management of complex systems using stat-of-the-art process models.
• Establishment of a research profile as well as national and international research activities incl. pub-lications
• Networking with regional stakeholders (companies, associations, etc.) 
• Participation in academic self-administration

Your profile:
• Professional expertise in the teaching area of Systems Engineering for mechatronic, networked, and safety-critical systems, including model-based systems engineering, system architecture, and verifi-cation and validation, as well as IT security of mechatronic and cyber-physical systems across the entire life cycle.
• Several years of relevant professional experience, ideally leadership experience
• Enthusiasm for working with young people and their development
• Openness for the further development and implementation of innovative teaching concepts 
• Openness to develop new teaching content according to further strategic employment
• High social competence in dealing with students, colleagues and employees
• Fluent in German (minimum C2-level) and in English (minimum C1-level)

The hiring requirements for professorships result from § 49 of the Higher Education Act of Rhineland-Palatinate (HochSchG).
