First Things First - German Language Requirements

Knowledge of languages may be the ”doorway to wisdom" (Roger Bacon) - but first of all it's hard work. Attaining a level of German which will allow you to integrate into German classroom discussions takes time.

In order to be enrolled as a degree-seeking student, you will have to demonstrate your proficiency in German. Although some modules of each programme offered at RheinAhrCampus Remagen are taught in English, many of the classes are held in German. Therefore you must pass one of the following examinations prior to submitting your application. UNI-ASSIST will not pass your application onto our university if it is not accompanied by one of the following certificates:

Faculty of Business and Social Sciences:

  • Zeugnis der Deutschen Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH), at least Level 2 (DSH 2)
  • Zeugnis der Prüfung zur Feststellung der Eignung ausländischer Studienbewerber für die Aufnahme eines Studiums an Hochschulen in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (which can be obtained at theStudienkolleg Kaiserslautern)
  • C1 Certificate issued byGoethe Institute
  • Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache für ausländische Studienbewerber (TestDaF) with a TestDaF level of TDN4 or higher in each of the subtests.
  • TELC C1 Hochschule (Higher Education)

Faculty of Mathematics and Technology (admission for Summer Semester 2019 or later):

  • Zeugnis der Deutschen Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH), at least Level 2 (DSH 2)
