Reachability of the IFW

The IFW can be reached by telephone daily between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm at 0261/9528-230.

The IFW

has the mission
  • to support and conduct social science research.
     
  • the initiation and implementation of continuing education.
     
  • the provision and making accessible of research results of the institute.

With these tasks, the IFW performs an interface function through which knowledge is transferred between science and practice.

  • Demographic change
  • Social inequality and health
  • Childhood and adolescence and developments in child and youth services
  • Social work in the migration society
  • Transnational dimensions of social work
  • Social policy, welfare associations and intermediary organizations

The tasks of the IFW in detail:

  • Support of department members in the acquisition of third-party funding for projects
  • Formation of research priorities
  • Implementation of own research projects (pro rata financing of positions via projects)
  • Supervision/supervision of (cooperative) doctorates for doctoral students of the Department of Social Sciences, e.g. within the framework of doctoral colleges
  • Support for faculty members in the concept development (planning) of continuing education courses and conferences
  • Realization of scientific advanced trainings
  • Implementation of symposia (practical transfer)
  • Implementation of scientific conferences
