The Academic Internship is based in the department Languages / International Affairs of the RheinAhrCampus in Remagen of the Koblenz University of Applied Sciences. The internship covers three major areas, teaching assistance, event management and marketing.
The teaching assistance involves providing support for courses on international business and intercultural competence. As the courses are project-oriented, much of the communication happens via an electronic platform (Moodle). You will be involved in setting up the platform and monitoring it, which includes working with PhotoShop. You will also be involved in running the language lab activities, providing an important service to all students.
The organisational side involves support of the international activities of the department. It includes organising and taking part in meetings and information sessions for students, preparing and managing our International Day, e.g. looking after our international guests and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day. Tasks also include planning our intensive weekend seminar “Managing Cultural Diversity”, a workshop with international participants, lecturers as well as students.
Marketing projects include the production and processing of information materials about our campus for our international partners. This involves developing a concept, taking suitable photographs and supervising the overall production. Up-dating our various communication media, in particular our website, is an on-going process and also part of the internship. This can include other forms of communicating with international offices and prospective students, such as extending the student blog etc.
