You don't have to go to Australia to meet Australians

Lusanne from the Netherlands, Winter Semester 2012/2013

As a Dutch student in Germany I often got the question why I went here instead of to some exotic place. Well, that had to do with lots of reasons, such as improving my German language and other factors; I also would have liked to go to Mexico, Russia or South Africa. Fact is that I ‘ended up’ in Remagen and fact is that I had an amazing time here. You don’t have to go to Australia to meet Australians and you don’t have to go to Jordan to meet Jordanians. You can all meet them here in Germany.

Students

We had a group of 14 international students with six different nationalities, and all great people. There were some students from RAC who guided us through the semester, showed us around, took us on trips and helped us with our questions. And of course you meet more and more students during your stay here who are more than willing to help you with any problem.

Courses

I can’t say that I had a hectic semester. By taking some workshops/seminars and taking courses I got all the ECTS credits I needed. What I really would recommend is the Career Development Seminar, the Intercultural Communication course and Strategic Business Communication. They might prove to be helpful in your future (international) career. But to be honest almost every course I took was given in a pleasant and interesting way so it was actually worth biking the whole 500 meters to school for.

Staff

Finally, about the staff at RheinAhrCampus. To me this was one of the most surprising parts of my stay. The moment I received an email with an offer for a room in Remagen from RAC I knew that everything would be alright. After all those months I’m still amazed about how easy it is to reach teachers and how fast and effectively they reply.

All in all I had a wonderful time with wonderful people in a wonderful place.
